Ambassadors

Our ambassadors are guides and anglers from all over the country who care deeply about clean water and healthy fisheries. They're out on the water every day, doing what they love and helping reduce pollution along the way. It’s all about protecting the places we fish—for today and for the future.

Owen Ward

In 2012 I caught my first trout on the fly in the shadow of my namesake, Mount Owen, in the Teton Range. That first west slope cutthroat changed the trajectory of my life. For the past 13 years I have centered my life around fly fishing and conservation across New England, and beyond. Based in Thetford Vermont I have been guiding the Connecticut River Watershed since 2021. I served as the head guide of the Orvis endorsed Woodstock Inn and Resort for several years before branching out and starting my own guide service and fly tying company, Flow State Fly Fishing. I enjoy pursuing and guiding smallmouth bass, sunfish, brook trout, salmon, gar, musky, striped bass, and everything in between. I love educating clients and friends about the many avenues of fly fishing.

Conservation is at the forefront of my guiding. I am a Trout Unlimited lifetime member and I serve on the board of my local TU chapter as the co chair of the conservation committee. I have also worked for TU in Vermont and New Hampshire as a skilled sawyer and conservation specialist adding woody debris back into our rivers to create flood resiliency, habitat, and refuge for cold water species. Fish are my business partners and I take pride and care in keeping them healthy for generations to come.
